This is the easy way to connect most any camera that does not have a camera chassis PC sync port to numerous flash units that also do not have any sort of sync port other than the flash's foot (such as the Canon 580EX, 430EX, 430EX II, 540EZ, and the Nikon SB-600). The cord also eliminates the often unreliable PC sync connectors.
